We know of Nalanda, the great univ that was finished off by the Islamic hordes of Bhaktiyar Khilji. But, there were several others which met with the same fate. Odantapuri monastery/univ estbld c760 CE by Gopala I of Pala dynasty is one such – at its peak it had 12000 students!

After sacking Nalanda in 1993 – yet another university Odantapuri was also reduced to a rubble in 1199 by the hordes. This beautiful tree also perished. These blood thirsty violent killings and wanton destructions, eventually drove out Buddhism from India… pic.twitter.com/VYQppzEzqa

The attached pictures of Odantapuri university are from bihar tourism dept; only these ruins remain… Unfortunately, though I had visited this site in mid1980s, I never bothered to click photos. pic.twitter.com/BgCvNYAYj6

Indian hindus rant on how buddhist monastries were destroyed by muslims than actually trying and making efforts to restore these ruins.
Not much info is provided except that was a buddhist monastry burned and destroyed by muslims.
agenda seem more to demonise muslims than historic interests.
