This was probably the only way in which Rajputs could defeat Turks. The Chinese are truly innovative. Use spearman in tightly knit formation to fend off direct cavalry charges, use shield to protect self from enemy arrows and archers will be behind, protected firing arrows. pic.twitter.com/jYhnQFe4RE

It is worth noting that Japanese Yumi bow over 2 meter long, cause in case of bows which have not animal sinew, horn, better if the bow is long, better stress resistant, range. Vasista's Dhanurveda Samhita says best bow is 5.5 cubit tall, but for common people 4 cubit bow is best

It is also worth noting that Japanese hold the bow in lower 1/3rd, why? Cause if the bow is held in such point, the bowstring will create maximum draw weight, getting better range and velocity, also vibration will be less. But Indians held bow either in middle or in first half. pic.twitter.com/ADIgJEv3nB

to stop Turks, needed was using 5.5 cubit tall bows, use 1/3rd position, bowstring made from silk thread, outer rind of unripe bamboo, pikemen armed with 12 feet pike in front to fend off cavalry charge, shield to cover, archers fire over pikemen's head, reload after lying down.

So the formation will look like this Except guys holding shield will also have pikes. Archers will reload while lying down, stand up only to fire arrows. pic.twitter.com/Udk3ZI3Pdv
