Fiction: (By a culinary journalist expert for The Print) – Mughals brought grapes to India( So around 1509 CE)
Fact: Lokopakaara, a ಕನ್ನಡ Kannada work written in 1025 CE, gives a recipe using grapes as an ingredient.
What's up with this Mughal fixation? @ThePrintIndia @acharya2 pic.twitter.com/rh3CxCKqXG

‘Charaka-samhita’ (400 BCE—200 CE) mentions ‘drākṣā’ (द्राक्षा = ‘grape’) 23 times.
‘Amarakosha’ (400 CE) gives 5 words for grapes: “mṛdvīkā gostanī drākṣā svādvī madhuraseti ca” (2.4.107).
’Lokopakaara’ (1025 CE) has a recipe with grapes.
’The Print’ (2019 CE) is ignorant. https://t.co/BI61im4pqZ
