Most people have heard the story of Akbar offering the Golden Chatra to Jwalamukhi temple.
— True Indology (@TIinExile) April 27, 2020
This story is told even in the temple.
But here are the facts
1) Akbar's alleged visit to Jwalamukhi and offering Golden Chatri to the Goddess is NOT MENTIONED in Mughal sources
Akbar's son Jahangir visited Jwalamukhi.
— True Indology (@TIinExile) April 27, 2020
Even Jahangir DID NOT mention Akbar's visit.
Jahangir called Jwalamukhi temple a "Brahmanical fraud intended to deceive common people".
He called it " a place of worship of vile infidels"
From Jahangir's autobiography Jahangirnama pic.twitter.com/VPGJ1fbvOn
It is clear that Mughals considered Jwalamukhi temple a vile place of infidels.

The story of Akbar presenting Chatri to Goddess Jwalamukhi is a FAKE canard spread to show Akbar in good light.
And it was a common strategy even in those days
Even before Akbar was born, there were FAKE canards spread that Sultan Firoz Shah visited Jwalamukhi and presented Golden Chatri.

When in reality Firoz Shah detested Jwalamukhi. He entered the temple, abused Hindus & declared that Hindus will go to hell for worshiping Jwalamukhi pic.twitter.com/VIVwSfLcfa
