Rakhigarhi, Haryana is now the largest SSC site , bigger than Mohenjo-daro at 350 hectares. It had:
City planning with network of elevated straight streets at right angles
Multi-storied houses with extensive layouts
Covered drainage systems
Garbage bins at every street corner.

A huge 7 chambered granary was discovered with lime lined walls to repel insects. Decomposed grass in walls prevented moisture from entering grains. A large industrial sized jewelry factory with stone & gold beads indicating a wealthy metropolis was discovered mid-town.

Rakhigarhi is breaking all conventions about SSC culture. Haryana now has both the largest SSC site (Rakhigarhi) & the oldest site (Bhirrana, 7570-6200 BC). The site was a sophisticated planned urban township designed for industrial commerce.
